Julius Blüthner Pianofortefabrik GmbH

Blüthner's success story begins in 1853 in the well-known music and trade fair city of Leipzig. This is where the master cabinetmaker, Julius Blüthner, founded his famous grand piano factory with three apprentices, which he expanded into the largest grand piano and upright factory in Europe during the course of his life, through diligence, innovative techniques and entrepreneurial skill. Right from the start, Blüthner presented itself superiorly at international trade fairs and exhibitions, e.g. in Paris, Philadelphia, Sydney and Vienna. To this day, the most important prizes and awards are noted in the resonance base of every Blüthner grand piano. The appointment of Blüthner as the purveyor to the European royal houses is an expression of consummate instrument manufacture and underlines the outstanding quality of the instruments. Well-known artists, such as Liszt, Debussy and Rubinstein promulgated the awareness of a multiple-award-winning “singing Blüthner grand piano” with sparkling dynamics and a warm, romantic sound to the concert podiums of the entire world. The Julius Blüthner grand piano factory has delivered more than 150,000 instruments worldwide since it was founded. With a globally established sales network and several subsidiaries, Blüthner presents itself on all continents. The old-established company has been family-owned for more than 150 years and now continues to be managed by its fifth generation with pride.
